Michael Charrois
Michael Charrois is a professional actor (Union of British Columbia Performers (UBCP)/ Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) and Canadian Actors' Equity Association (CAEA)) and Theatre Arts Instructor. In his 40 years of experience as a self-employed contractor, Michael has worked on films such as Unforgiven (1992 Academy Award Best Picture), television (The Haunting of Bly Manor, DC's Legends of Tomorrow), and Theatre (Screwball Comedy, Lower Mainland tour). Michael teaches drama classes for the City of Burnaby's Shadbolt Centre Community Programs at Christine Sinclair Recreation Centre. He has taught after-school drama classes for the Shadbolt at north Burnaby schools including Gilmore, Aubrey, and Monticito schools.
Michael is a proud social democrat and has been a strong voice for equity for many years. He was the Candidate for North Vancouver in 2008 and 2011 as well as a provincial candidate for North Vancouver—Seymour in 2017. Since 2017, Michael has been elected President of North Vancouver—Seymour BC NDP's Electoral District Association (EDA). Previous to that, Michael was elected President of the North Vancouver—Lonsdale BC NDP EDA and the North Vancouver federal EDA.
Michael is an avid gardener and has served as Secretary and President of Lower Lonsdale Community Garden Association and Secretary for North Shore Community Garden Association. Michael says "Growing food is like printing your own money."
For the past 5 years, Michael has been working on the front line as a Constituency Advisor in MLA Susie Chant's community office in North Vancouver—Seymour. Michael enjoys communicating with constituents, organizing community events, and helping people navigate the system.
Michael lives in the Lynnmour area of the riding with his wife Jacqueline and their SPCA rescue cat Bailey.
